Scroll of the New Dawn

Scroll, very rare

This narrow parchment always feels sun-warmed to the touch and gives off a faint glow. Reading the scroll aloud takes 1 minute, at which point the words on the scroll fade and it bursts into an instantaneous flash of sunlight. The scroll is then destroyed. If the reading is interrupted, the scroll is not destroyed.

When the scroll bursts into sunlight, it sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. All creatures and magic items within the radius immediately gain the benefits of a long rest and 24 hours passing, except for regained health and hit dice. Instead, all affected creatures suffer Radiant damage equal to four times their level. This damage cannot be prevented by an immunity or reduced in any way.

To foster radiance in darkness, hope in tragedy, memory in loss.

To cultivate light in others, that their deeds may shine bright in remembrance.

To summon one's own blazing dawn, that it may raise hearts and minds to stand united, even when determination seems to bring only agony.

By this we Lightkeepers are bound, from present sacrifice to a future yet unknown.
